World renowned hactivists group Anonymous issued a statement threatening Facebook shutdown this coming January 28. The group have uploaded a video on YouTube regarding the Operation Black Out which target the world’s largest social networking site Facebook.

On the video posted yesterday January 23, 2012 the familiar anonymous voice is calling out for a global army to participate in the attack against Facebook. They included an instruction on how to be a part of their global war against some of the world’s most prominent sites.

According to the voice, although Facebook is part of their global campaign against PIPA and SOPA, the inability of Facebook to act immediately against the legislation is a sign that the site will become a possible target for them.

The hactivist group have already proved that they were indeed a large network of hackers after they demonstrated their capability of hacking top government sites such as the FBI and the US Department of Justice.

The group had also declared last November 5, 2011 that they will shut down Facebook but failed to do so, and the group denied that they were shutting down the site last November. They stated that an impostor group is behind the message and not the original and notorious group Anonymous.

The attack to shutdown Facebook is scheduled this coming January 28, 2012 at 12 A.M. but no timezone. If you think the threat to attack Facebook is serious just feel free to add your comments below.
